What does it really mean to have faith? This message takes us deep into James 2:14-26, where we are confronted with one of the most honest and direct challenges in all of Scripture. James does not let us settle for a faith that lives only in our minds or in the words we speak. He pushes us to examine whether our belief in God is actually showing up in the way we treat the people around us. The central image is striking: if we see someone without food or clothing and simply say, have a great day, stay warm and eat well, without doing anything to help, what has our faith actually accomplished? James calls that kind of faith dead. Not weak, not incomplete, but dead. This is not a message about earning salvation through good works. It is a message about what genuine love for God naturally produces. When we truly understand how lavishly God loves us, and how equally He loves our neighbors and even our enemies, we cannot keep that faith locked inside ourselves. It spills out into action. As we reflect on this, we are invited to ask ourselves some honest questions: Does our calendar reflect our faith? Do our daily conversations and choices point to a living, active trust in God? This message calls us not to guilt, but to the freedom of a faith that is real, relevant, and alive every single day.
