This powerful message takes us deep into John 5:1-15, where Jesus encounters a man who had been an invalid for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda. What seems like a simple question—'Do you want to be well?'—actually reveals profound layers about our faith, our brokenness, and our willingness to be made whole. The sermon challenges us to examine whether we truly believe God can heal us personally, not just others. We often find ourselves trapped in victim mentality, making excuses about circumstances beyond our control, much like the invalid who explained why he couldn't reach the healing waters. But Jesus wasn't just addressing physical healing; He was offering complete restoration—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Greek word translated as 'well' actually means 'whole,' revealing God's desire for comprehensive healing in our lives. The message emphasizes that healing requires action on our part: we must believe God exists, believe He created all things, believe He can fix what He created, and then act on that faith when He says 'pick up your mat and walk.' This isn't about demanding miracles or creating spectacles, but about genuine faith that responds obediently when God speaks. Whether healing comes instantaneously, through a process, or through medical means, God remains our healer—and the question remains for each of us: do we truly want to be made whole?
