Building meaningful relationships is at the heart of our faith journey, much like constructing something beautiful with LEGOs—it requires intentionality, the right pieces, and a vision of what we want to create. This message explores the profound biblical mandate to build relationships as the primary method of discipleship and kingdom-building. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:8-11, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, and Colossians 3:12-17, we discover that relationships aren't just nice to have—they're commanded by Christ himself. The sermon unpacks different levels of relationships, from acquaintances to family, reminding us that even Jesus had various circles of connection, from thousands of followers to his inner circle of twelve, and an even closer group of three. What makes this particularly compelling is the identification of seven core principles essential to every healthy relationship: love and unity, encouragement and support, forgiveness and reconciliation, humility and service, growth and development, and active listening. These aren't just theoretical concepts but practical tools that transform how we engage with our neighbors, coworkers, and even strangers. The challenge presented is clear: true discipleship happens not through door-to-door evangelism alone, but through the slow, intentional work of building authentic relationships where people can witness Christ living through us. This is crockpot ministry, not microwave results—and it's exactly what our world desperately needs.
