What truly defines us? Not our careers, our relationships, or our accomplishments -- because all of those shift and fade over time. Ephesians chapter 1 cuts through the noise of the world's ever-changing labels and anchors us in something that cannot be taken away. We were chosen before the world was even created. We were adopted into God's family with full legal standing, meaning nothing can strip us of our inheritance. We were redeemed at an extraordinary cost, forgiven completely and eternally, and sealed by the Holy Spirit as a divine guarantee of what belongs to us. When we grasp these five declarations of identity -- chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, and sealed -- we stop competing for acceptance, stop carrying the weight of shame, and stop fearing a future that God has already secured. This is not about what we have done or failed to do. It is about what has already been done for us. The invitation is to stop wondering who we are and start living from that place of settled, unshakeable identity in Christ.
