AM Worship-The Gift of Seeking
This powerful message during the third week of Advent challenges us to examine whether we truly possess a seeker's heart. Drawing from Isaiah 2:1-4 and the story of the Magi in Matthew 2:1-12, we're reminded that God has intentionally woven curiosity into the fabric of our being—not as a random trait, but as a divine invitation to discover Him. The Magi weren't content with comfortable routines; when they saw the star, they disrupted their entire lives to pursue truth. This wasn't astrology or mysticism—it was God using creation itself to reveal His presence and draw seekers to the Messiah. The profound reality is that God doesn't play hide and seek with us. He actively places signs, questions, and holy disruptions in our path, beckoning us closer. Yet here's the sobering question: are we truly seeking, or are we simply going through religious motions? A Bible on the shelf, church attendance as routine, knowing a few scriptures—none of these constitute genuine seeking. Real pursuit requires us to stop our normal patterns, ask difficult questions, and be willing to follow wherever truth leads, even when it costs us comfort, relationships, or security. The promise remains beautifully simple: seek and you will find. God lavishes His love upon us, longing for relationship, waiting for us to take just one step closer so He can come all the way.
